John Rennels - President

John Rennels currently holds the position of president of A Plus Lawn and Landscape, Inc. He has eleven years experience in the Green Industry and founded A Plus in the spring of 2002 as a sole proprietorship. Incorporated in 2007, the company has since grown to four full-time employees and up to ten part-time employees. He started the company with the vision of molding A Plus Lawn and Landscape into a Complete Outdoor Service company that would provide superior, quality service. He also had a vision of making A Plus Lawn and Landscape into a Destination Company that would attract the best employees and people. He is creating this environment with the help of A Plus's staff through the use of educational opportunities, best practices in the industry, the use of the best equipment available, and being a leader in the Central Kentucky Green Industry in compensation and benefits. He believes that this will lead to the most professional, most dependable and highest quality Service in the area. He also believes that people will understand value vs. price and that clients long for true service. John is a big believer in education and professional development. He is involved with Planet (Professional Landcare Network), the Kentucky Turfgrass Council, and Anderson and Frankfort Area Chambers of Commerce. A Plus Lawn and Landscape has also joined Woodford and Mercer Counties. Chambers and he hopes to get involved in those organizations as well. He has had speaking engagements at Planet's Green Industry Conference in 2007 for Green Care for Troops and is chairman of the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce Business Expo for the second year. He also participates in a peer group called Leaders Edge which is a collection of Landscape Design Build/Construction and Maintenance companies from 5 states and Canada. John is a certified applicator and operator in the state of Kentucky for the application of pesticides and herbicides. He is also working on his Certified Landscape Technician Exterior designation through Planet. John is originally from a small farming community in Central Illinois and moved to Kentucky in 1995 to attend college at Eastern Kentucky University. At school he met his future wife Melissa and they married and settled in Anderson County in 2000. John and Melissa have two beautiful girls age two and four. When John is not working you can find him fishing, hunting, playing church league softball or spending time with friends and family!

Chris Harvey - Account Manager

Chris Harvey was A Plus Lawn and Landscape's first Account Manager. He joined the company in September of 2006 and brought with him an impressive resume. Chris's background in the Green Industry started at a very young age in his families Citrus business in Vero Beach Florida. He worked his way up in the family business until he and his brother were managing a 1000 acre operation. While in the citrus industry he developed his skills at irrigation maintenance and installation. He later left the business to get into the residential irrigation market working for a company in Vero Beach. Chris moved to Kentucky in 1996 and went to work for City of Frankfort's Parks and Recreation Department as a maintenance supervisor. One of his duties was maintenance of their athletic fields. While at the City of Frankfort Chris was heavily involved with the restoration of numerous historical sites around the Capital. From there he took his skills and knowledge back into the private sector and was account manager for Lois's Helping Hands where he gained experience with managing commercial and residential accounts. After Lois's Helping Hands he moved on to Hillenmeyer's in Lexington where he worked in the Weed Man Franchise. At Weed Man he honed his skills in the Lawn Care side of the Green Industry. Not long after that move he landed a job with the City of Lexington's Division of General Projects where he was in charge of maintenance of the counties athletic fields and transitioned into performing all of the chemical applications for the division. It was during this time that Chris made the acquaintance of John Rennels who was owner of a small Maintenance company in Lawrenceburg who had a grand vision of where his company could go. Their conversations lasted for 8 months upon which time Chris decided that A Plus was a place that would provide him with a platform to expand and maximize his skills in an environment that encouraged original thinking and ingenuity. He also liked the fact that his ideas would not only be considered but also recognized. Chris immediately took over the fledgling Lawn Care division and has grown it to 23% of A Plus's total sales. Chris is a licensed operator and applicator of chemical in the State of Kentucky. Chris is working on his Certified Landscape Technician Exterior designation through Planet. He is also a member of the Kentucky Sports Turf Manager's Association and is well known and liked throughout the industry. Chris is a driving force behind our goals of becoming a Destination Company. He recognized many of those attributes before joining A Plus and is helping us identify areas we can improve to achieve that goal. Chris lives in Anderson County with his wonderful wife Hanna and their three beautiful children, ages two and four. On his days off you will find Chris working on projects or spending time with friends and family. He also likes motorsports.

Jessie Drury - Account Manager

Jessie Drury is an Account Manager for A Plus Lawn and Landscape and has nine years of experience in the Green Industry. Jessie joined the A Plus Team in April of 2008. In that time he has distinguished himself for quality work, attention to detail and superior customer service. Prior to joining A Plus Jessie was office manager for a successful screen printing and embroidery business, operated a Flooring Contracting business and was CFO for a nationally recognized Christian rock band. From these experiences Jessie learned valuable lessons on customer service, business operations and systems. Jessie is also a Licensed Chemical Applicator in the State of Kentucky. He is currently working on his Certified Landscape Technician Exterior designation through Planet. Jessie is an important part of our team and is exactly what we look for at A Plus Lawn and Landscape. With Jessie's help and input we will continue to create opportunities for other people and ensure A Plus's position as Central Kentucky's Destination Company. Jessie was born in Frankfort and has resided in Anderson County for more than 25 years. During that time he met and married his wonderful wife Christy and they have two beautiful children ages two and four. In his time off Jessie enjoys playing, writing and listening to music or you may see him riding around the countryside on his motorcycle.
