John Rennels currently holds the position of president of A Plus Lawn and Landscape, Inc.
He has eleven years experience in the Green Industry and founded A Plus in the spring of 2002 as a
sole proprietorship. Incorporated in 2007, the company has since grown to four full-time employees
and up to ten part-time employees. He started the company with the vision of molding A Plus Lawn and
Landscape into a Complete Outdoor Service company that would provide superior, quality service. He
also had a vision of making A Plus Lawn and Landscape into a Destination Company that would attract
the best employees and people. He is creating this environment with the help of A Plus's staff through
the use of educational opportunities, best practices in the industry, the use of the best equipment available,
and being a leader in the Central Kentucky Green Industry in compensation and benefits. He believes that this
will lead to the most professional, most dependable and highest quality Service in the area.
He also believes that people will understand value vs. price and that clients long for true service.
John is a big believer in education and professional development. He is involved with Planet
(Professional Landcare Network), the Kentucky Turfgrass Council, and Anderson and Frankfort Area Chambers
of Commerce. A Plus Lawn and Landscape has also joined Woodford and Mercer Counties. Chambers and he hopes
to get involved in those organizations as well. He has had speaking engagements at
Planet's Green Industry Conference in 2007 for Green Care for Troops and is chairman of the Anderson County
Chamber of Commerce Business Expo for the second year. He also participates in a peer group called Leaders
Edge which is a collection of Landscape Design Build/Construction and Maintenance companies from 5 states and
Canada. John is a certified applicator and operator in the state of Kentucky for the application of pesticides
and herbicides. He is also working on his Certified Landscape Technician Exterior designation through Planet.
John is originally from a small farming community in Central Illinois and moved to Kentucky in 1995 to attend
college at Eastern Kentucky University. At school he met his future wife Melissa and they married and settled
in Anderson County in 2000. John and Melissa have two beautiful girls age two and four. When John is not
working you can find him fishing, hunting, playing church league softball or spending time with friends and family!
