Dear Friends,
I wanted to take a moment to let you know about Chris's trip to Arlington National Cemetery as a part of the Professional Landcare Networks Renewal & Remembrance. This program has be on going for years now however this is the first year anyone from our company has participated. We viewed a presentation on it at last years Green Industry Conference in Louisville Kentucky. Chris got very excited about the opportunity. I would like to say that I was as excited as he was but that would not be the truth. Do not get me wrong I loved the idea, however typically July is one of our slower months. This combined with new equipment liabilities, new employees and having to be with out Chris for 5 days caused me a moment of pause. With that said Chris was persistent about his desire to go. The reason I tell you this is to give credit where credit is due. I want you to know that Chris arranged and paid for his lodging and meals. This should tell you what type of individual you have performing service on your property. I wrote to you when Chris was hired about is qualifications and the fact that we were lucky to have him. That was true then, and I think you will agree that it is even more true today. Through your patronage we were able to supply him with a truck and 2 spreaders and the gas to get to and from Arlington. Please accept my deepest thanks for your partnership in this very worth while cause. Without you our company would not be here, and we sure would not be able to participate in such a wonderful event. I would like to extend another thank you to all of you who have served and those of you who are still serving our country. From all of us at A Plus Lawn & Landscape, thank you from the bottom or our hearts!

Dear Friends,
John asked me to write to you about my experience at Planets Renewal & Remembrance Event at Arlington National Cemetery outside of Washington DC. This event has been going on for over a decade now and we found out about it through our affiliation with the Professional Landcare Network (Planet), of which we are a member company. Renewal & Remembrance brings together Lawn & Landscape Companies from around the country to provide free service for Arlington National Cemetery on one weekend in July every year. This year over $300,000 worth of service was provided in lime application, irrigation installation and arbor care. Arlington National Cemetery is the largest and most well known national cemetery and is home to thousands of our countries Heroes, many of whom paid the ultimate sacrifice so people like us could live and work in the greatest country in the world. Arlington is a very big cemetery utilizing 250 acres of the 600+ acre property. Arlington has over 500 funerals per year. Planet is the only organization that is allowed on the cemetery grounds for this type of endeavor at Arlington. As many of you know last year we started our relationship with GreenCare for Troops which is a non-profit that organizes free Lawn and Landscape services for families that have a member serving in our military overseas. We thought that the Renewal & Remembrance event would be a natural fit with our continued involvement with GreenCare.
We arrived at 6 AM and went through orientation and sat in on the official ceremony and then went to our team staging areas. Our team applied over 30+ acres of lime. One of the more humbling moments was the passing of 1 of the 2 funeral processions that day in our area. Watching that procession at Arlington National Cemetery really makes me thankful for all of our blessings. We finished up in early afternoon. It was a once in a lifetime experience which we are already making plans to repeat.
Lastly I wanted to say thank you to all of you who have spent your hard earned money with us for service. I would not have been able to go, regardless of desire, had it not been for the business that you give to us. We enjoy providing service to all of you and hopefully or relationships will continue to grow throughout the coming years. Thank you again!!
